How to photograph models for free

I went to a "dream car show" today and found lots of beautiful women around the cars for the purpose of being photographed (and capture the ads in the backgrounds in your snaps). They pose really well each time you want to take a photo. What a great way to get royalty-free images of models for your web site or to make banners etc.

Well I have never been one for half dressed anorexic women draped over cars, but that is me. I am sure there are men who like the idea.

The idea was "how to photograph models for free" rather than organizing an expensive photoshoot or purchasing photos from an agency. There are very few top sites that do not feature an attractive smiling lady on the home page. There must be a good reason to do this  I see you employ the same tactic with your posts Heidi.

Well, there are a lot of sites that do use the attractive female and I never understood that. Why not an attractive male? Why not kids? How about a dog or elephant?

Sorry, I am just being a witch about this. It has always driven me nuts that marketers insist on using sex to sell everything. I just don't understand why having a half dressed woman on a car is acceptable. It doesn't offend me that she is half dressed. That is her choice, however, when I go to a car show, I want to see the car, not that skin. Since the world is still being driven by men, I am forced to look at women instead of the car.

I'm going to use men and women on a new site www.weight-loss-tips.ws I know elephants have been used to sell insurance but can't remember seeing them elsewhere in advertising much. I used dogs before too for dog-training ads. You are probably right that any real-world graphics should be a good complement to boring old text.

I don't know about you but I take many more pics with my camera just to build my own personal collection of stock photos. You never know when you might want to use a picture of a truck, the street, a building etc.

I try to take as much of my own stock as possible. Here is one I took this weekend. It is huge, so be patient. If you are on dialup, you might want to avoid this since it is 760K in size.

This is a wooden sailing ship called the Pride of Balitmore. It is normally docked in Balitmore, Maryland, USA. It was taken out of its normal spot and sailed to Annapolis, Maryland. Volvo is sponsoring a race. The stopped in both Baltimore and Annapolis. Virginia and Maryland each have the large sailing ships and we both on display. I have not uploaded the second image yet. Once I get time, I will show you all.
