Well I had an Olympus C700 that I literally beat to the ground. I used it so much I shorted out the electronics in it. I had to break down and get a new camera. I struggled over what kind of camera to get. I finally decided that I really needed an SLR camera. I use my camera far too much to get anything of less quality. I only got 2 years out of my C700 and I wanted something that would last longer.

I purchased a Nikon D50. It is not the top of the line, but it is a very nice camera. I love it. I currently have 3 different lenses for it. I am in heaven. I purchased this about a month ago. The link below is from my vacation. I took these last week. There are three locations, Charlotte, NC, West Virginia Mountains, and Niagara Falls (both sides).

congratulations with your new camera, Heidi! you've made good choice as I'm looking at this model for about one year and did a lot research on how it works and images it produce. From what I can see it gives one of the best quality shots even comparing with more expensive models.
I'm really looking forward Nikon to continue on making same good models in future.
BTW what kind of lenses do you posses, and if it's not a secret can you tell where you bought it and how much does it cost?

Regarding your album, I have diffculties viewing pictures for some reason, HTML is loaded but no images, I'll try to check it later. Am I only one or others have similar problem?

Denis, you are not waiting long enough for the pictures to load. They are all about 200 KB - 300 KB in size. Try waiting a bit longer. This is drastically reduced from the site the camera puts out. The camera produces about a 1 MB image each time.

As for the lenses, I bought them from an eBay store. I actually purchased my last camera from these guys and am very happy with them. I purchased a 28-80mm Zoom and a 70-300 Macro Zoom. The camera came with an 18-55mm lense already.

Great pictures! I have always wanted to visit Niagara Falls. It's on my list of places to see.
(And I love niagara_falls_us9.jpg!)

This time I was able to view your photos, guess it was just a problem with my ISP.
I should say that your dad have really great garden, Sveta and me trying to make something like this as well with a pond rounded with rocks and various plants, although we're limited on space so it would be pretty small I guess.
Niagara should be really beautiful place, my favourite is this photo: niagara_falls_canada6.jpg
