Hi!

I want to get rid of my old 21" NEC and to buy a 20" lcd monitor.  I will use it for graphic design not for games, so i don't need a very fast response time.
I think Samsung Syncmaster 204Ts is a very good option ... but dunno ... i'm not finding any product reviews.
Any advices?

Hi man! it's nice to see you again Smiley
Regarding your question I have o say that mostly used LCD monitors on laptops with cheap TN matrix, and some other monitors but not for long as well to judge objectively about it's quality.
Anyway I've check your model here http://prad.de/en/guide/screen2304.html and seems that it has S-PVA technology which should give good color reproduction, the only thing I should say that I'm not very positive about Samsung brand...
The reason for this is that too many devices of this brand become broken more frequently than others, I also should tell that my friend few weeks ago was going to switch from CRT to LCD and choose this model Samsung 970P which use PVA matrix. He's ordered it and once it came it has few dead pixels, company agree to exchange it, so they ordered it from bigger city and once it arrive here same problem with pixels was on it too.
So he went to all PC shops in city checking for this model and seems that all of them has dead pixels, only monitors with TN matrix wasn't affected by this. So I suspect that it's either models was from one party and have defected matrix although I can't understand why PVA which costs two times more than TN has this problem...
Anyway it's better check your monitor before you buying IMHO in order to avoid same problem.
BTW what about your NEC, what was bad about it?

I'm a graphic artist and I use the Gateway FPD1960 (Silver) 19" LCD Monitor. It's the best monitor I have owned, and the nicest LCD monitor that I have personally used (I have not seen every LCD monitor on the market, but of all the LCD monitors I have seen purchased by friends and family, the difference in quality is very obvious).

Not bad at all ... it's MultiSync P1250+ model with triniton display. I want to make some space on my desk because Nec is a monster and it's a little bit outdated march 2000/TCO95.

I didn't heard about this Samsung's problem. I'll surely check the monitor before buying  Cheesy

When you look at the images look at the right hand edges of dark to bright transitions and vice-versa to look for ringing (like a repeating/diminishing shadow effect). My desktop monitor has this problem and 1 dead pixel. I don't know the maker of the LCD though.

My laptop (Fujitsu) has a superb display though with the black background layer built in like the Sony x-black display. So there is a big contrast range. Also there are no dead pixels or any other problems I can find apart from it is difficult to clean finger marks off the screen.
