I know most of you will be surprised to read the title of this article. Actually this is what search engine optimization is all about. There are a few points which every search engine optimization engineer should remember. Going through this will not only get you a better SERP's ranking but also will increase your Google PR.

1. Submit to as many quality directories, article sites and Press Releases as possible like this site http://www.submityourarticlesnow.com. While doing so the most important factor to remember is that all these should have a unique content and anchor text. As this is what I am using for several years successfully and which I am promoting as "The Magician's Wand SEO Technique".

2. Many people do submit articles to various sites and think there job is over. But if you really want your article to make headlines, you should make it as unique as possible like the title above which is "8 magical SEO techniques!". So now you know what this technique means.

3. Getting Linkbacks: Most SEO's think the more the linkbacks the better the PR and SERP's which is one of the most biggest rumours going around in the world of SEO.

4. Don't place common anchor text on hundred's and thousands of sites as these can be identified by Search engines as link spam or a Black hat technique.

5. Avoid Link Farms: Avoid sites which offer thousands of links instantly by placing a folder on your site. This is one of the worst methods of getting linkbacks. While submitting to directories, have a close look at the PR and the quality of the backlink.

6. Make use of all tags in your pages like title, description, keywords, header 1, header 2, alt of images by focusing on 10 main keywords for optimization.

7. Install a sitemap script for your website if it has thousands of pages and set a cron to update it daily if you wish search engine's to crawl your site regualarly. You can find many such scripts on the internet today.

8. The more your websites content is unique the more chances are that it will rank at the top. So place your website content with some unbelivable words like for example - thought provoking content.

I don't think it is an issue. The post is valid and provides a long list of possible places to submit articles.

Please keep in mind that submitting articles is not the answer to all your SEO needs. It is only a small part of an overall  SEO program.

Thanks for the reply.  I just didn't see the 'spam' in the original post and thought the list provided would be quite helpful.  Of course article submission is a small part of an overall SEO program; it's just a big part of what I'm doing now.

We are very careful about spam here so you might see comments from time to time. Since I am the moderator of the SEO stuff I had already taken a look at this post.

Everyone needs to keep in mind that not all sites can use this kind of SEO Technique. Some sites just don't have information for article submission. If you do, you should try submitting some well written and informative articles. Most of these submission sites are very careful about what you submit. Don't feel hurt or insulted if your article is rejected. You can always rewrite the article and try again.

Since some sites remove these duplicate content articles and some don't. There must be some grey area about whether it is good or bad to retain the post?

I learn't alot in the past from SEO-guy.com so I would expect them to know what they are doing.
Alternatively, the guy running Platinax.co.uk is an experienced forum builder but has a zero tolerance for this kind of thing.

Here's some thoughts on why it may be ok to accept duplicate content on a forum:

Maybe as long as these duplicate content posts don't take over you may be ok? Where the original content is in the majority.
People commenting on the article may dilute it's effect.
Robots will visit the sites in the lists and this site would show up in the server logs as the referrer. So the sites will note that we are friendly towards them and we can expect more and more articles to be posted. Or their stats are visible to search engines so we get natural link backs.

Personally, I would only build my site with original content and reference other interesting articles with a quote and link. In the offline world, reprinted articles are clearly labelled with the source of the article.

So how about some more opinions on this subject?

I don't like the way you insert your site link between the article content and the author's credit. Your site link should be after the author I think. Also there is a huge area of white space between the article title and the content caused by some javascript. At least when I looked at one of the articles on your site.

I think I will be picky as to which article directories I send mine to so as to ensure that it will be a worthwhile exercise in terms of getting back links as the article is reproduced.
