as you may know we got elections in parliament, local government representatives and for city mayor. So we've got 3 lists(in my region even 4) to vote on, biggest one contain 45 options and was about 1 meter long... and people have to wait about 2-3 hours in order to make a vote.
Anyway we had sad statistic that 3 people died waiting in queue to vote Sad there was also several injuries mostly heart attacks.
I wonder if something like this happen during elections in other countries too, or elections done in a more organized way there, which doesn't result to human deaths?

I'm sorry to hear this... Undecided We've had similar problems in America. Old people stand in line, get too hot and too tired (Especially in the lower states where everything is already 'too hot'), and end up passing out or having a heart attack.

I've never had to wait more than 5 min to vote. We are not in a big city but, maybe have to wait longer there. We seem to have polling booths everwhere.

Its choosing the right monkey is the hardest. When things like this are happening > http://www.nupge.ca/news_2005/n06oc05a.htm .

Living on the green belt of Sydney (richmond) to vote means lining up in the local school playground for about twenty minutes and then going and choosing your vote from about twenty candidates Roll Eyes
This is the result of choosing 'monkey' and Chris calls it Tongue

The pro-russian party have the most votes don't they ?
I wanted Ms Tymoshenko's party to win. I don't know why though.
 Shocked
Here in Castleford we have 4 or 5 places we can go vote. The last time i was supposed to vote, i should have gone to a church hall to vote, but as i said above. I went to the wrong church and ended up watching the ballroom dancing.
 Cheesy
We only have a few real partys to vote for as well. We have the odd one or two silly partys that don't get many votes and only do it for the laugh, but we only have 3 main partys that stand any chance at all.

I hate Tymoshenko as actually most people in our region Tongue She planning build 12 more reactors here not sure if I wish my childrens to face another Chernobyl...  Angry
You should read her site... not sure about English version but when we had politology at university I need to make report about current states of parties, their programs and other things... and she seems to have very selfish site... each 2nd news told how good her party is and how bad others... She also seems to be mostly interested in money from gas and atomic power, her politic is pretty radical also so these reasons why I don't like her.
As for Party of Regions they seems to have some attractive targets on the todo list as making Russian language as a second official language... but I doubt that this ever become real.
Anyway I don't like any parties which have chance to get into parliament right now...

that's the only good thing about her Smiley
And don't worry, I actually don't believe that elections in current moment could really do the difference and I never was angry on anyone for their beliefs Wink

generally yes as we got more democracy after this, but life become really harder that's why people choose Regions.
BTW I hate how Party of Regions waste their money on elections, they loaded tons of ads into our postboxes and put ads everythere around. Putting this money into business could really solve a lot of problems...
PS unlike other people I have no objections to Jushenko, he seems to be fair guy in most questions and not too radical as Julija. Hope that new Orange coalition wouldn't give her a lot of power...
Moroz from Socialist party is ok as well, this party probably got most of my simphaties after Viche which doesn't get in parliament...

With 45 or however many people to choose from, they will all want to advertise and get noticed. It is a bit much to have all that through your letterbox though. They should just go into town and let everyone know what they stand for and what they hope to do for the Ukraine.
