It's not any kind of artistic photo, but I still wish to share it because my girl and me manage to grow stawberry in the middle of the winter(you can see snow on the street). Few days ago(on my girl's birthday) we've tasted it first and I should say that it's unlike any of the stawberries sold in the mini-market which is full of water, this one was sugar one, very tasty! Wink
Enough talking, take look yourself:

I wonder if anyone trying to grow something on the windows in the winter just as me?

very nice!

so do they taste as good as summer strawberries?  Grin

as you probably know, I'm getting a head start on my tomatos. a few years ago, I brought in a tomato plant before it got cold and had a few up until the first of Jan. But they didn't taste as good as the summer ones.

this is some of them. The screen you see on the lower ones is to keep our cat from chewing them up (I think he tries it just because he knows it makes me mad. Roll Eyes )

this is where they are, its my office/computer room

I figured since I was snapping pictures, I'd turn around and show you my messy work area, or part of it.  Grin The big guy is "Dead-eye" I got him just before Halloween. Under his hand you can see my alien in a jar, and to the left you can see an eye...thats actually a lamp.  Grin

Denis, I'm amazed!     I can't even grow strawberries outside in full summer and here you are growing them inside in your window.

Good job!

Interesting stuff.

All I'm growing at the moment is computer cables  Tongue It's too cold in my current dwelling. There's snow outside but we need some windows open to stop condensation on windows. All part of the traditional Japanese culture here in Kanazawa  Grin

p.s. The strawberries look very tastey.

maybe they didn't spend enough time on the plant or didn't got enough sun? I also wish to eat strawberry once it become red, but Sveta keep me from doing this for about week or more, so it get enough of juice from the plant, we also didn't water it very well so maybe that's why it didn't taste as a one made of water(such taste have strawberry sold in the market during winter).
BTW we also grow parsley and spring onions on the same window.
And last week we've also got blossom hyacinths(they was on the balcony all winter, and when we put them two weeks ago inside they quickly start to grow and blossom after this). On the background you can see blooming Azalia(rhododendron).
here is the picture:

thanks Bev, I think we don't go far from you in growing strawberry during summer in the garden, as we don't water it regularly.

'Wish we had some tasty ones here. Florida is one of the best states for strawberries, but the last few years they haven't been that great. I won't give up on them completely this year...

Nice pictures! That "creature in your office is a little scary though lol! I do not think it is an easy task to grow strawberries in the middle of winter in a window no less! I am planning on planting a crop this year in my garden. I have never done that, because I usually plant my garden to late. Oregon is a great place for strawberries. I willl take pictures good or bad! Grin

I'll do without Dead-eye, thank you, but I love the pics of the growing things.    Denis, you and your girl must have a pair of green thumbs the way plants grow for you.    Indoors yet!

Well, I'll try for the berries and the tomatoes again this year, although I have to do it in pots as I don't have a garden area here.    My tomatoes last year were very disappointing, but I don't have much sun either; lots of shade trees.

My son is the gardener, he already has lettuce growing outside, and has started a lot of produce inside as well.    He also grows herbs - and knows how to use them in cooking!     He's smarter than his old mom.

I plan to get a  digital camera soon, and when I do I'll take some pics.    Can't wait!    Wish I'd had one on my recent trip.

I think you need to pick right sort of plant which wouldn't require much sun, e.g. strawberry we're growing isn't require a lot of sun and bees aren't necessary as well Smiley

I'm thinking my middle son in Chicago may be buying me one... he knows of an HP 5 that's not terribly expensive.

It seems he sent me a gift card from Walmart for my birthday in January which apparently got deleted by accident - I get so many "offers" I generally delete them... or Spamblocker stops them.     So he told me to watch the mail as he was converting the gift card - but didn't tell me what he was getting.    But he knows I want that Digital camera so we'll see.

Wishing.... wishing!    Grin
