What do you guys think about being restricted in copying CDs and DVDs that you paid full price for and copy to your media player in a reduced quality format?

If I buy a CD, it has high quality uncompressed music on it. When I copy it to say MP3 it's not as good quality sound and also, my CD is only worth 10% of what I paid for it if I want to sell it to somebody in a second hand sale or to a music dealer. So I think it should be fine to copy your music and sell the old CDs.

I also never understand why some companies wish to put their nose in such things like this... I also don't udnerstand musicians who stay behind companies who try to establish these rules, as in my eyes they loose points and even fans...
BTW here is organization which try to fight against this: http://www.eff.org/

After I ripped my CDs with MS Media player it shows me ads to buy the CDs I already bought  Tongue So they assume you are illegal before hand. This is so annoying given that I enabled the copy protection so music I paid for isn't given away. Also, our family has effectively bought windows XP 4 times so far and only 2 of us use it at any time  since we have 4 pc's with xp Tongue

hehe, maybe people at MS believe that this tool would only be used by people who wish to use music for free...
