Heres an idea, since these are webmaster forums.

Quote
Nerd is typically someone smart that displays outstanding intelligence in a specific subject, but can sometimes just be generally intelligent. The nerd is often ostracized by his/her peers because of their intelligence. Some nerds may be socially adept, but this is often because they have a fair grasp on human behavior and psychology.

Geek is a person who is fascinated, perhaps obsessively, by technology and imagination. A geek is typically someone who specializes in something. They do not neccesarily have to be smart. The well-balanced geek is normally fairly adept socially.
those are wikipedia definitions. Newbie could stay as is since its an internet term that describes someone without much experience. or perhaps shortened to "newb" which I have also seen before.
Next could be "infosnacker" which is a term related to time spent on the computer at work, doing things that aren't related to work.  Wink followed by "techie" then nerd, then geek and then perhaps "super" geek or "ultimate" geek.
I'm not sure where you would go with pictures and colors though  Undecided
Just a though.  Grin

thanks for your submission Doc!
I've just split your post so replies to your submission wouldn't be confused with replies to Don submission and vice versa.
Actually you provide some good points that our community is webmaster related and probably need to have some terms which is associated with this in some way(although lately we try to provide boards with various topics) BTW I really like word techie for some reason Wink
Wish you luck in the contest!

Nobody would want to be called a "Nerd". Wikepedia is lacking the extra part of the definition where Nerds are males who don't take an interest in personal appearance and hence don't tend to be attractive to females. Geeks are ok since they can be cool, infact I think I am a Geek  Grin

well you know, it depends on what definition you use. A "geek" was originally a side show freak that bit the heards off of chickens.  Shocked It doesn't quite apply any more though.
and this is your typical nerd  Grin
