Does anyone know how to work out how much your website is worth ?
How can you find out the value of your website without paying someone to evaluate it ?
 Huh

Maybe by adding up the value of these factors? :

domain name - compare value to domains sold before.
subscriber/member list - each subscriber could be attributed a value e.g. $5 each.
visitor traffic - compare to cost of using AdWords to drive this traffic.
existing revenues - companies trade on multiples of incomes (PE ratio) such as 20x annual earnings
quality/quantity of inbound links
brand recognition e.g. if it appeared in the press or media.

The value would be heavily influenced by the commercial potential of the site I guess.

I didn't know much about site selling but things said by Andy seems to be leading factors in determning what site is worth.
Graham, I'm answering your PM right now so let you know about our forum members who maybe could give you more info on this.

Yup, i'm selling netaddition.com and had no idea how much it was worth. It doesn't make any money for me, but could have adverts added to it, to bring in a little cash. It's the commercial side of things that it doesn't have though so might not be worth what i've put the starting price at on Ebay.

BTW Ebay might not be the best place to sell it also.
Oh and have you noticed all the sites for sale on ebay that aren't worth a penny ?

I think Andy has almost hit the nail on the head though, but i've still no idea how i would go about guessing the price of a website.

If you don't find any outright buyers, try a partnership to bring in some capital. You would maintain the site and use the funds to generate traffic/ad placements. Following a profit, approach the market once again.

I still don't think Ebay is the best place to sell a website though.
