wow! that's was really good idea to use gemstones(hope I've used correct word) for membernames, it's not offensive and have a lot of meaning if read your descriptions(BTW can you tell on what these descriptions are based does, is it astrology, feng shui or something like this?)
Guess if this theme is picked we can use photographs of each stone...
Good job, and wish you luck! Smiley

Some of the information is probably based on astrology and such things but I think most of it would be from what felt right many years ago and was considered popular for so many years through superstition. However some have been found to have some truth to them.

That is really cool Don Grin  I also like it a lot.

Reading yours bought to mind an idea:
What do you think of this guys?
Red Key 0-4
Orange Key 5-14
Yellow Key 15-49
Green Key 50-99
Blue Key 100-249
Indigo Key 250-449
Violet Key 500 or more.

I took the colours from this....http://www.zianet.com/rainbow/frcolor.htm
Personally I prefer Dons' idea, but this is just a little input...... Undecided

I like the stones idea but never heard of Tourmaline and Citrine.

Shouldn't "diamond" be included? 1000+

Perhaps I should add 1000+ to the membergroups that need renaming in the guidelines?

I remember citrine because it reminds me of "citrus" and looks like a bright orange/yellow-ish gem, but I don't know about tourmaline. I looked it up and it seems to come in a bunch of a different colours:

I'm not sure which color Don had in mind, though.

I think we could have even more than 1000 or 2000 as well of course if there would be enough of gems or other items Smiley
So I think we should simply base number of groups from number of items proposed by member.

I didn't place diamond in the list because I think it is just too plain looking. As for Tourmaline I always think of the watermelon Tourmaline slices like....

Because it is the most interesting to me but the most common form of Tourmaline is a medium green like the middle if the slice's rind.

I don't want to be the criticizer in the group so please take this constructively donecweb.  My concern about your idea is that for new members, if they are are not familiar with the different types of gemstones, it might be a little confusing and not altogether obvious unless they pay close attention to the person's actual post count what the member groups mean.

Constructive criticism is always a good thing. However, since many forums use level labels that have no related meaning especially to newbies I for one don't see that it is really much to be concerned about..

I would agree with Don, that almost each forum is using membergroups these days and actually I've seen really wired names so guesss using gems wouldn't be a problem especially if we repost material which was given in the first post somwhere on the New Member Area board.

BTW is anyone else plan to submit more entries?  Roll Eyes I'm curious to see what ideas had other people, so looking forward to see them! Wink
