in Japan. Looks like you can buy anything you want, and some things you don't want in a vending machine!  Grin

Haha - Those are great! Grin

I know a few people who would get a good kick out of the toilet paper machine... Too bad they don't have those around here. Tongue

thanks for sharing this link Dr_Demento! Smiley
Here we don't have any machnies, except few gambling ones and two coffee makers in markets, during my life I mostly saw vending machnies selling drinks like Cola, chewing gum and newspapers, I find out about the rest from this site. I wonder how much cash could bring some vending machine?  Roll Eyes Grin

If there aren't many vending machines where you are, I would imagine you could make good money.  We do have vending machine services here. You buy the style of machine you want and stock it with product. But in the states it would be difficult to find places without machines close by. (cola, candy and snack food machines)
I could be wrong, but i doubt anyone in the states would buy their eggs from a vending machine.  Grin

I have visited Japan many times and seen/used the vending machines to get 1litre cans of beer outside my hotel. I like the cold/creamy coffee too which is great. In Japan, people don't smash the machines up, rob or deface them like in other countries. Plus it's a fun-loving place where the bright ads are not restricted so much by boring old farts in community planning offices.

When I worked in Scotland, local theives would rip the vending machine off the factory wall and drive away with it. In my area in England the cash machines from banks are regularly taken. They use trucks and JCBs for the job. This is why we have no street vending machines in the UK as far as I can remember.

that's probably one of the reasons why vending machines are not widely used here... those gambling machines are always stay inside some shops or moved on the street in the day, otherwise they would be robbed for night.
Selling beer isn't good idea here, as if some drunk people have no money they could do a lot to get something to drink...
So I'm not sure what kind of machine would work in our area and be safe...

We have the same problem where I live. The vending machines at my school are kept indoors and are guarded by security while the school is open. The same with pretty much any vending machines around the area, some of them are even kept on "lock-down" overnight...

We don't have anything interesting like in Japan, though. Just soda and snacks, and the occasional coffee/icecream vendor.

Parking Garage Machine

If for no other reason .. THIS would make me consider moving to Japan
I am immediately going to contact   SOME BODY  to investigate this
Every Large Parking Lot  should have one..

I am forever losing my car in large parking lots
True Story
Took my children  to a huge sporting event at The Houston Aster-dome
Parked out in the pasture (way out ) among thousands of cars
Thought I had row, space etc. down so I could return

After the event  following thousands of people out
we  went out through the wrong exit.. Of course I did not know this
Walked the 50 or so rows back to my car and it WAS NOT THERE

After walking around for almost 2 hours in total panic
and totally convinced someone had stolen  my car
I got assistance from one of the  Aster-dome people
and they offered to drive me around in the little Golf Cart  and help me find my car
By now he parking lot was pretty empty  and I spotted my jalopy
Way out , sitting all by it's self  on THE OTHER SIDE of the building..

Talk about embarrassed
I would Pay a fortune to Park in one of these garages
This is what I call a Senior Citizen Necessity  Cheesy
