Now I am selling my house, I cleaned the windows for maybe the first time in many years. Normally the rain takes care of it but it has been quite dry recently.

But after cleaning my global headquarters (spare-room) window, I was shocked to see a massive spider in the middle of a huge web stretching out all over the back of my house flapping around in the wind. I decided to leave it for the time being and tidied the garden only to find 2 more. It's really unusual to see these big bodied spiders in the UK in my experience with the short legs. I guess in other countries you are used to them and regularly munch on them in your sleep as they crawl into your mouths by mistake  Grin

Anyway here is a pic I took of one in the garden from the underside:

We have a lot of small spiders, and last year summer I've made a macro photo of biggest one I've seen in my life it was about 3-4 cm, but I can't find it right now, maybe I've deleted it as it look pretty scary Tongue Grin

BTW they don't climb in mouths here, but during my saliling on the Khersones there was a lot of cocroaches around and once you turn off the light they start to run everywhere and jump on you as well, it sounds scary(even to me right now) but when I was there I've got accomodated to this and just throw them away... so I've told this story to say that some fobias probably could be cured or you can accomodate to things you don't like(at least it happened in my case, BTW right now I don't like cocroaches again)
