Hi All,
We are conducting a survey and we want to find out what Web Masters/Web Developers/Designers prefer to use for
their hosting. Do they prefer Windows Hosting or Linux Hosting?

What if the Web pages are designed in HTML and you find a Windows and a Linux Host offering their services for the
same price (considering the competition in the hosting industry these days). Which one will you choose?

Please share your views.

Cheers
Dan

I would choose the Linux Hosting. Because I believe the developers of Linux are more interested in a good program and service than they are interested in money making for a better product and greater flexibility. Just my opinion.

same here, I actually using Linux as my primary OS from the time I was fed up with Microsoft bugs and vulnerabilties. I've worked with Windows hosting and Linux one and I should say that Windows servers in addtion to stability lack some features: permissions system(wich gives you more flexibility in creating secure scripts), working through SSH(Guess it's possible to be made on Windows server too but I never had it unfortunately) which is essential when working with big site or MySQL database or other scripts, or just backing up your files, it's very handy and save a lot of  time... FTP is good but it don't give necessary flexibility especially if you had modem connection to internet...

I belive using  a linux hosting is the best solution! It's more reliable, works fast and it's almost imune to the hack attacks!

hi my friends, i found new and nice site and also good post all of them linux web hosting and Windows web hosting are parallel, as both of them allow you to put a website online with almost no effort at all. Yet, there are some main differences between the two. Basically, neither of them is improved than the other as they both present their own advantages, depending mainly on their desired application. Both of them have a series of reimbursement and disadvantages and the decision to use any of them should be based on your specific needs as a webmaster and in any case not on the popularity of the operating system itself.
