One of my sites gets incredible amounts of spam emails and most of them have big attachments. I'm talking 100's per day with up to 256Kb of attachment size. I presume they are generated from virus infected PCs from people I have emailed at some time in the past. Unfortunately, this sort of virus must be killing the internet and unless people disinfect their pc's it can only get worse. Or is it the fault of ISPs that should be able to put a break on these high volume floods of spam emails?

They are very bad since they spoof my domain name so any autoresponse would end up with me getting more spam. Also, I don't know how may other people receive the spoofed emails. Why is it still so easy to spoof an email these days?

Anyway, what I do is to set up my catch-all email forwarder to go to a black hole email where everything is automatically deleted. My active email is not subject to his forwarding so I get email good email ok. I'm wondering how long it will be until one of the people behind these trogan horse programs is seriously messed up? After all, if a webmaster loses 100's of bucks due to an attack like this, they may want to pay someone to sort out the problem?

Try this on your web pages:

Link: <a href="mailto:name&#64;mydomain.com">Email Us!</a>

or

Text email: Email us at: name&#64;mydomain.com

or

Javascript:
<p>Send enquiries to our

<script language=javascript>

  <!--

  var contact = "Support Staff"

  var email = "name"

  var emailHost = "mydomain.com"

  document.write("<a href=" + "mail" + "to:" + email + "@" + emailHost+ ">" + contact + "</a>" + ".")

  //-->

</script>

</p>

Change anything in bold to your email details and domain etc...

Yeah, I have used these techniques before.

But many of the emails are addressed to user names that don't exist such as "admin@".

I have never sent an email from most of the addresses that I get spammed on.

Today I deleted around 188 emails, many with 100K+ attachments all ready to bounce around the internet.

They must be using Alexa etc. to identify domain names that are best to spam.

Like I said before, if anyone wants to earn a quick $100 let me know  Wink
