Hi Liza,

I had a look at your website and think the logo is perfect for this page.

The page looks great.

Only the web site structure is not good for search engine results.

Wow Liza, I am really impressed by the progress you have made in the last few months. You are really getting a hang of this graphic design thing. Wink It takes some people a few years to get this advanced...

Also, I don't see any problems with the logo. You could change the hue to a deeper blue if the color contrast bothers you, but I personally think it looks fine.

Thank you so much for your replies and compliments, Rachel and Andy!

I think eventually it would have fit better for my poetry site: dismal, nocturnal, gothic... but ok, too late! Grin

You are right about the deeper blue, Rachel... I will change it, if I will not re-design it entirely until next week, hehe.

By the way, why is it bad for search engines? because of the "heavy" template of lack of text links?

My comment about the search engines was because if you view the source code it is full of formatting code and the content is buried deep inside, so the balance of code to content is tipping the scales away from search-engine friendliness. But if people are likely to search on your name, it wouldn't be a problem. Using sytle sheets helps in this area but can be tricky to master.

If you are not well known, I suggest introducing some regionally-specific keywords into your title and content to help you get search engine hits.

I like the new look much better. But that's just my opinion. It looks much cleaner and refreshing.

too bad I didn't seen design before it was remade. Anyway I like how it looks right now, especially I enjoy background. As for logo I believe that it has way too much empty space, maybe if you make if you size it down a bit it.

I think the logo and surrounding whitespace is a good fit. I would like to see an 'over' effect on the top menu buttons  to separate them from the logo.

It's all a matter of personal taste but to me the background (ie the left and right of the page) are too strong and draw the eye away from the centre of the screen where all your info resides. I would make the background about 50% transparent so it does not do this. Other than that I like it - the butterfly especially helps break up the rectangle of the logo box.

I have to agree with Doc except maybe just lighter, softer and less shiny may do the trick.
