Let’s say you’re getting articles from a content site. Obviously other sites will be using the same articles. Would a search engine considered this duplicate content?

If that is the ONLY thing on the page, then Yes. However, I am assuming you have a full template and you are pulling a feed in to that template to show the article. If that is the case, then it is not considered duplicate.

Sorry Hope but I don't understand your reply. Are you saying that due to the multiple pages, different layout and site design that the content  (an article for instance that can be found many places) could be considered as different content even if it is the only useful content on a given page of the site?

Links and accurate information provide the best answer, while garbage in provides garbage out.

What i am saying is, if a page has content other than the article in question, then it would not be considered duplicate content.

Most people who have the feeds have other content on the page as well. The template, links to other "similar" articles, or other related content. This makes it different.
