Good news for me since I'm a Brit, and it should give some great motivation to the kids at school to start training hard for a chance of Olympic dreams.

Oh, I am so glad it wasn't New York. That would not have been pretty. Congratulations to London.

Congratulations! Who said that the British Empire is a spent force. This means great things for England and the sports world in general, but particularly for the next generation of athletes and the dreams of all the kids.

The downside of it is that Londoner's will partly finance the refurbishment through increased council tax bills, and of course security issues are something that will become increasingly important.

The downside is worth the pain. The prices of everything will rise, including the standard of living and the quality of life. Does wonders for the ego too! The benefits for the East End are beyond measure.

This might give the cricket team just the kick they need to beat the Aussies in the Ashes this year. The team is certainly good enough to do it. The fast bowlers have never been better and the middle-order batsmen are better than ever.

With all the bombs going off in London today, i'm glad they chose the destination for the 2012 Olympics yesterday.

Well, I don't think that the bombings would be anything to hinder the showing of the olympics in 2012. London is one of the safest places in the world. This is simply because, since the IRA bombings, London has surveillance everywhere, and this has been shown through the media. It showed on the newss, that they had suspects extremely soon after the bombs were detonated, and they showed picturs of the accused. Bear in mind that this is ONLY what they've been telling the media, and so the agencies must have had extraodinary amounts of surveillance and footage and information on the bombers. England and Israel have the two greatest intelligence systems in the world, because after all they've had to put up with, they'bve increased in efficiency. The Olympics didn't go to ENgland, it went to London, hey gave us, up here, the consolation prize of the commonwealth games. Tight-fisted gits  Grin
