I initially start my code/design using Firefox and follow-up with IE for any adjustments(then Opera, others).

For page coding (js, css, html) and testing, what are your primary/secondary browsers?

I usually display my site in Opera first (Since it's my main browser) and then go on to view it in Firefox first, and then IE (As well as Navigator and Avant just because). I notice that it is more difficult to make a site compatible with Opera opposed to other browsers. There are certain CSS and JS items that Opera won't view the way other browsers view them. So when I'm done making my site compatible with Opera pretty much every other browser looks fine.

I just tried Opera for the first time and the school is still out on it. I start with Firefox and then check it against Maxthon since it is such a good tabbed interface using IE and then go through a list of less popular browsers. When I tried Opera on my new 1 page so far site http://bestwebstop.dbws.info/ I was surprised to see that it showed the CSS text shadow like the Mozilla browsers instead of ignoring it like IE browsers do. Made me think that maybe Opera is based on the Gecko engine like the Mozilla browsers but I haven't been able to find out yet.

I am old school, I design for Netscape 4.x, then I work on the other browsers. Then again, I use the old netscape, so I want it to look good.
