Live Aid was a Charity concert  for Africa in 1985 organized by Bob Geldof.
At 2 July there will be a 2nd live aid in different cities world wide.
Acutally i don't really think that it will help.
Maybe for some days or weeks people will speak about it but then  it will be forgotten.

Also Live8 will take place just as the G8 meeting will be about to start. The G8 is where the leaders of the rich countries get together to talk about things. At this G8 they will be talking about the Kyoto protocol and Bob Geldof wants them to also talk about removing Africa's debt.

Quote
The Kyoto Protocol, an international and legally binding agreement to reduce greenhouse gases emissions world wide, entered into force on 16 February 2005.

Anyway as far as i know Live8 (live aid) will also be shown on the internet.

Kyoto needs to be followed by all countries, it is a shame that most just ignore it. The US is no exception.

acutally they do remove debt for 18 african and asian countries.
It will be around 55 Milliard $ which is a joke if you notice that Germany allone wastes every year around  36 Milliard $ of taxes ( every year a book is released to show where the goverment wasted money ).

And what after they removed debts?

Put your name to the list now !

http://www.live8live.com/list/

Every single day, 30,000 children die, needlessly, of extreme poverty.

On July 6th, we finally have the opportunity to stop that shameful statistic.

8 world leaders, gathered in Scotland for the G8 summit, will be presented with a workable plan to double aid, drop the debt and make the trade laws fair. If these 8 men agree, then we will become the generation that made poverty history.

But they'll only do it if enough people tell them to.

That's why we're staging LIVE 8. 10 concerts, 100 artists, a million spectators, 2 billion viewers, and 1 message... To get those 8 men, in that 1 room, to stop 30,000 children dying every single day of extreme poverty.

We don't want your money - we want you!

Thanks for explanation Jeanne! now I've remind what is it, I've heard about previous concert before. BTW our news even show short report about this happening.

Kyoto needs to be followed by all countries, it is a shame that most just ignore it. The US is no exception.
my country could make money on this from what I know since current pollution levels are less than allowed. Guess that if Kyoto would be approved by all counties everyone would win, sine it would sooner or later cause lowering of pollution levels. IMHO it's very wise to regulate pollution like this.

Also Live8 will take place just as the G8 meeting will be about to start. The G8 is where the leaders of the rich countries get together to talk about things. At this G8 they will be talking about the Kyoto protocol and Bob Geldof wants them to also talk about removing Africa's debt.
hope that this meeting wouldn't be just another routine signing of agreements and talks and they would really make something what would make like in Africa a bit easier than now.

AFAIK over 26 million people signed the petition. I think you can still sign, but the G8 meeting is in 3 days time. Lets just hope that it helps.

BTW would the petition be legal ? I'm sure the way it was set up, that you could sign more than once if you wanted to. I didn't by the way. I only signed once.

On the UK news today they said 26,000 children die from Malaria via mosquito bites each year and 1 in 4 adults have aids.

It seems like they need drugs and education most. And get rid of the corrupt military leaders.
