Remember the term - If you are a manager
doesn't mean you're a good leader, because
it is only then you'll know that you've managed
well but doesn't lead...

Here is a story:

A man in a hot-air balloon realised
he was lost. He reduced altitude and
spotted a woman employee below.

He shouted: "Hey! Excuse me, can you
tell me where I'm right now? I promised
a client to meet him half an hour ago...
That's the deadline... But I don't know
where I'm leading to now?"

The woman employee replied: "You are
in a hot-air balloon hovering about 10
metres above the ground. You're 40-41
deg. North and 59-60 deg. West, far from
your actual target."

"You must be a good engineer!" He replied.
"I am," she said. "How did you know?"

"Well, everything you told me is technically
correct, but I've no idea what to make of your
information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've
not been much help so far... May be, you should
be fire!" Said the man.

"You must be a manager then, Sir." Said the woman.
"I am!" He replied. "How did you know?"

"Well, you don't know where you are or where
are you going after reaching your target in that
hot-air balloon.

You've risen where you are until you've forgotten
about your client deadline...

So proud, you are navigating that hot-air balloon
that has risen to where you are right now, not
knowing who engineered that hot-air balloon of
yours Sir..

You made a promise which you have no idea how
to keep and you expect people beneath you to solve
the problem..

At that height, you are sure to face problem
you've created on your own, and then push the
burden to people below to give you direction..

To be frank, you are exactly at the position
when we first met, but somehow you'd forgotten
due to immense pressure...

So Sir, sometimes I felt it was my fault to
create that balloon for you...

And I'm leaving you so that you can manage
that balloon of yours to the direction you
want..

Oopps, one more thing Sir.. The client you
are going to meet is non other than my favourite
customers..."

The man was stunned, but managed to find his
way much too late to realise how silly he was.

Worst, he never got to see his client..
