Of the Firefox users, What are your favorite extensions and why?

My favorites are...

Edit n cookies  http://addneditcookies.mozdev.org/
Because I want to keep some of my cookies and this extension allows me to select the cookies I want to keep and then do an invert selection followed by delete and all the cookies I don't want are gone.

Resize search box   https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=349
The search box normally is set too small for me to see all the text I put in there. With the resize search box extension I can make it larger by reducing the address bar allowing me to see all the text.

Search button   http://www.pikey.me.uk/mozilla/
I use cut and paste for searches and it seems much easier to me to just click on the search button than to let go of the mouse and find the enter button on the keyboard.

Session saver   http://www.pikey.me.uk/mozilla/
I shut down my computer when it is lightening and session saver make me feel quite comfortable since when I just shutdown Firefox it remembers where I was and saves this for the next time I start Firefox. Thus I can shut down quite quickly. I also use it when I get distracted with something other than the web. It allows me to not have to check each page I have open and decide if I want to save it for later reference or not.

Spellbound   http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/
I am the worlds worst speller and Spellbound is the best spell checker I have seen for any program. I use it in conjunction with WordWeb to insure the word I use is really the word I want and is spelled correctly.

Duplicate tab   http://twanno.mozdev.org/duplicatetab.html
I use to open a tab for replying in forums and still be able to read the forum message I am replying to.

wow! thanks for such good thread, it was great idea to share this info! thanks to you I've found few extensions which could be useful for me, I'm going to check them out right after I'm reply to your post and tell about my extensions Wink

BBCode - http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=380&hl
this one is probably my favourite plug-in, since I spend a lot of time on the web posting in communities and mostly use QuickReply box this tool is just what I need. It have BB Code tags which could save you a few extra keystrokes when you quote someone or place URL. You can also create your own tags there. If you're forum poster be sure to check it out.

Gmail Notifier - http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=394
I pay for traffic and keeping GMail open in new window seems to waste a lot of it(since it checking for mails too frequently), this extension appear on status bar and inform when new mails appear in the box(I set it to check for mails every 30 minutes which is just what I need).

Tabbrowser Extensions - http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=599
it's hard to describe all features of this plugin, but it give me much more flexibility in working with Tabs, I've start to use it when I was on Mozilla.

SearchStatus - http://quirk.co.za/searchstatus/
I'm Linux user and although I had IE working through Wine, I don't use it frequently. But I still like to know about Google PageRank and Alexa status for some sites and this plugin let me do this. It also have shorcuts for Traffic Details about site, show information about Related sites(taken from Alexa.com), let you check this site in the past through www.archive.org and few other handy features.
Actually for displaying PR I had another extension: Google Pagerank Status - http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=468 I prefer it because of custom icons which is much more easier to eyes than default Google progress bar.

GooglePreview - http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=599
Another useful for me tool which show small preview of the site when searching for something in Google.

Hope other people would continue this list and we'll find out more useful extensions! Wink

PS I had few other extensions installed but I still not sure whenever they are useful for me or not, if I found them useful, I'll post about them here.

I've only installed SearchStatus - http://quirk.co.za/searchstatus/ I like it because it doesn't waste space in the top part of the browser. Now I have 3 bars taking up vertical space in my firefox browser, any extension that could reduce this to 1 bar would be great.

On a side note, the tabbed browsing is great for me since I tend to have a huge number of web pages open at any time. Now I have 11 tabs open. I hate it when new windows open and I have to alt-tab between applications. When you have multiple tabs, you appreciate the favicon ico graphic. This is something I need to implement on my own sites.

Thats a good question so I thought I would tell about mine.
I have the search status located in my menu bar. (It used to be at the bottom but for some reason it moved and I don't know how to get it back to the bottom.)

The standard navigation bar with cookie editor and spell checker in it.

a bookmarks bar full of folders that I use for quick access bookmarks and often used bookmarks.

Web developer tool bar that I am just checking out with the nice feature of allowing you to resize your window to any size you set.

The RoboForm bar.

Finally the status bar with Forcastfox in it.

They are either drivers or links to drivers or software for your video card. Since the are different they may be old. You need to find out what kind of video card you are using before you mess with them.

In my list I forgot a very important extension that I don't think about because I have no interface with it. This extension is the Bookmark Backup extension from.....

http://www.pikey.me.uk/mozilla/
it backs up your bookmarks and other (if selected)  Firefox settings each time Firefox is closed, like history, passwords, preferences, security data bases, cookies permissions and more to a folder you select. It backs up almost any file or folder in your profile every time you shutdown Firefox.

And I've found another useful extension this time by Google, it's called Blogger Web Comments and could be obtained here: http://www.google.com/tools/firefox/webcomments/index.html
When you visit some site it check for comments about it on Blogs and give you notification if anything is found, so you can check feedback right away. It doesn't take much space on your browser window, just small icon indicator in the status area.
