Hi Everyone,
I'm interested in starting to use RSS feeds to promote my site, but I'm kind of at a loss on what type of information to give. It seems all the good ideas are already taken. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Eli

Hi Eli.  RSS is all about content, and your best bet is to provide specific content on an area that you are expert in.  That way someone can subscribe (or use) your RSS feed, and always have content which matches their interests.  For example, I have an RSS feed at my book review site The Compulsive Reader (http://www.compulsivereader.com/html) which is always literary book reviews.  It will only appeal to a certain audience, but that audience probably always wants to be kept updated on what's new.  If you don't actually produce regular content on your website, an RSS feed isn't going to suit you.  Hope that helps.  NB, if you are looking for promotion, you should consider Instant Buzz.  It's free, you can link it to your RSS feed if you end up doing one, and just for this weekend, they have opened it to everyone.  Check it out here:

All the best.  Maggie
