That is pretty cute. I would fail doing them. First of all I am not very good at drawing. Secondly, I don't pay that close of attention to the logos.

The importance of a good logo design ...

First, picture this: a royal blue triangle with a circle inside of it. If you think of this for a minute you can probably recall what company uses this logo to brand itself. If you thought of America Online, you were right.

A great logo can make or break a business. Little kids as young as the age of one recognize McDonalds when you drive it, not because they read it on the sign, but because they remember the logo. As for older people our minds are clogged with many other things and a great logo will always be remembered if created properly.

The creation process is always unique and a great logo is usually defined as "I know it when I see it." Which is true, because if its great, you will have an extreme emotional change. Whether it is excited, shocked, astonished, flattered, etc. Something that will make you go to the extreme will make you remember that wonderful logo.

Even though McDonalds is a large company, and spends millions in advertisement, smaller companies logos do have a big impact also.  Ultimately, the logo makes the sale by speaking for the company when there is no sales representative present. It delivers the message to the public that a company is unique, reputable, and dependable.

I agree with you on Logos, it could make or break a business. And so will colors. Colors have been researched as well, to make a peson buy or sell certain items. Take AOL for example, I am betting that anyone that has had AOl would know their Logo. Is that what you were referring to?  Red cars will out number white cars in speeding tickets. But white cars have a better resale value.

Actually I think that would be anyone in the United States. With the amount of floppy disks and CDs they have sent out over the years, I don't think there is anyone in the states that have not received at least 50 over the last 10 years. I remember when I was getting one a week for about 2 years.

My bank in the UK has wasted millions on repranding itself too often (abbey). My latest checkbook has 3 checks used after the old one was used up and now they are changing again.

I agree that a logo is an important part of branding your business but many marketing people are taking it too far and exploiting companies.

Some people just don't get it with their over-importance of their big mug shot, US-slant and bold text.

Why are you picking on me Andy? Smart mouth remarks will get you no where in my world. I did nothing to you.  Denis I am gone from here, I will not be back. I can live without these kinds of attacks. I am no fool either.

Andy, your attacks are irrelevant to the discussion and unnecessary. If you want to argue over design preferences or HTML coding, go right ahead. Leave the personal attacks out or I will remove your posts.

Andy, I agree with Rachel, you shouldn't pick up for people for such things especially on public board, as our primary aim to create friendly community which would help people not taking into account whenver he or she is professional or newbie and or other things... so if you wish to disagree with folks please not pick on them but rather try to prove why you think different.
Tommy, I'm sorry that you're leaving us, hope you would change your mind, but I can't force you to anything. Please forgive us for this attack...

Thanks Denis, I will come back, I was having a bad day anyway and that kind of remark did not set well with me at the time.

Oops,

sorry about my outburst. I was annoyed at my bank for so many changes and let it spill over to this post, a bad move I agree!

You're not the only one, Andy... Seems I have been having mine, lately.

I think that we get so comfortable with the forum that we vent and don't even realize we've upset someone. Feel free to step in when I get out of line too.
