Here's the problem:

1. JPG opens fine on my computer in Photoshop and other viewers.
2. I ftp the file to my site, but it doesn't display on the page.
3. I ftp the same file back to my computer, and it's corrupted ("bogus DQT Index 12" is the error msg)
4. I download the SAME file through "save as" and it opens fine with local viewer.

I tried transfers (both directions) as Ascii and binary. Same problem in every case.
I tried using a different ftp program. Same problem for both programs.

So: The problem does not appear to be related to transfer type (Ascii or binary) nor to a particular ftp program.  But it DOES occur only through ftp transfer, not through "save as" download.

Any ideas as to what's going on here? I am stumped.

I have had similar problems. When this has happened to me, it has been because of the naming convention of the image. Try changing the name to test.jpg and see if it helps. If you are still having troubles, then try removing the .jpg from the name. FTP it and then rename it with the .jpg extention.

yeah Hope is right, in windows letters case doesn't matter, but when you deal with Linux or Unix based systems Test.jpg isn't the same name as test.jpg so just check that your image have same name as the URL which pointing to it on your page.
