Hi guys,
Did anyone see the amazing shooting of billowing white plume when Mount St.Helen released steam? I mean in reality not on TV.

Denis,
my Mum lived in Seattle, about 100 away from Mount St Helelns, and she had videos of when it blew out at the side the time before, was in the eighties I think.....all the lava rolled down the side of the mountain, knocking down all fir and pine trees, just like matchsticks.......There is an Red Indian legend attached this, but I need to get the story right....I knew it at the time, but cant remember it accurately nowSad  However, it is supposed to be because of a disagreement over an Indian Maiden........
Saw the arial pics from before also, but can't place where Roll Eyes  I remember the story of a man and his doggie friend who had been living on the mountain for many many years, and were advised to move and leave, and he refused to, saying it was his home, and he wasn't leaving......so you can guess the rest.....which was very sad.
I remember callling my Mum up and her saying to me for a long time after the eruption you could see the acid rain clouds....also for a while after it was darkish becasue of these clouds....but they didn't open up over Seattle they drifted out over the Puegot Sound.....
Sorry, got carried away, THAT was last time, wasn't it Tongue     NOT this time.......Maybe I shouldn't even post this Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
