Has anyone watched the news on TV this morning ?

Keep an eye out for the latest news about the Russia school siege !

From what it says on TV one of the female hostage takers blow her self up and that might be why the gun fighting started.

Does anyone know why this started ?
Who were the hostage takers ?
Why did they take a school ?

Also did the Russian army do a good job trying to end this thing ?

They are terrorists. They are evil and vile creatures that need to have their heads examined. Children do not need to be pawns in a war. This is sad.

Here is the latest from CNN http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/09/03/russia.school/index.html

I've spend almost whole day watching TV, and here is what I know from local news.
School was taken by terrorist demanding to withdraw army forces from Chechnia, it was taken after it's become obvious that president elections win person who'd like to integrate Chechnia with Russia and terrorists demanding independence for republic. Operation were started after few folks go inside the building to take out dead bodies, during this people outside heard few shots and some hostages try to flee from the school, but terrorists open gun fire, to these hostages. After this army forces come into action and from what news show now operation is still not over Undecided

I hear from BBC news that the terrorists are of Arabic background, implying extreme Moslem beliefs again. The poor children, very sad event indeed, a new low in our history.

This had to be one of the single most heart-breaking tragedies I've seen in a long time.  Evil in its truest form.  Unbelievable.

Maybe I'm not a realist, but when I heard that there were children involved with this also, I turned the volume down on TV and disappeared until I thought maybe it was finished on the news.......I have heard so much about babies, kids, children lately, paying the penalty for others, I can't handle it....not right now anyway......I simply could not believe this day and age these things happening.......barbarism.....and as for hacking to decapitate, well, I can't find a strong enough word for it......No-one has the right to take  anyone else life.....it is not easy sometimes for us, alone, to get through without falling by the roadside becasue of emotional, mental, physical and for some, financial struggle going in some parts of the world.......Apart from victimising and killing innocents.

What I cannot understand is how these people can see what htey did was justified? I understand they don't want someone controling their country. Hell I wouldn't be to happy if someone took over my country. I would NEVER think of going into a school and letting childrend die because of what their government was doing. I would never put children in the way. They have nothing to do with this. They are innocents.

The other thing I cannot understand is how you can bring your children up to hate. In the middle east there are hundreds of "terrorist schools" teaching children to take up arms against anyone who is not exactly like them. This is sick. How can someone who loves their children teach them something as ugly as hatred. Not just hatred, but hatred to the point of murdering those who are hated. They see this as their duty and as their right. This is so sad. These poor children will grow up (if they are lucky) and never see the world for what it truly is: a beautiful place with many diverse living creatures, many cultures and more love than anyone could imagine. Instead they see a place to conquer and distroy.

You would think that after all the years humans have kept hisstories we would learn from our mistakes. Didn't the cruisades teach us that armies used in the name of God is wrong? What about the concentration camps during WWII? We can go back to the time of Jesus and see how wrong these prejudices are. A man was killed in the name of religion. Some call him the savior others a profit, but he was still killed because a group didn't believe the same as him and they were afraid of him.

it is time people began to realize that we all live on a very small planet. We have two choices. First choice is to live in peace. At the very least, accept that others feel differently and that there is nothing wrong with that. The second choice is to kill each other off. In this day and age when there are nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, this would mean destroying the planet as well. No one would survive...so so few would survive that no one would remember what it was all about.

I don't understand hatred or religious wars. Last I know, God (by what ever name you choose to call him/her) was loving. It is time we humans started acting that way.

What is this world coming to? Is there so much hate in the world that we have to hurt children? This is very distressing to hear.

I don't blame you for sticking your head in the sand. Sometimes it is just better on your emotions to avoid such stories once in a while.

Today the UK's Ken Bigley had his head chopped off and many people were killed in Egypt with 10 floors of a hotel demolished and a pool-side suicide bomber creating many corpses.

 Cry
I'm really tired of such news, too much people are suffering all around the world and it won't get any better, guess that soon I just start to skip news channels and try to ignore what's happening in the world, not sure if it's right thing to do, but since you couldn't do much about things which happen maybe it's better to ignore them Huh
