I wasn't talking about search engine optimization ,but advertizing as I made clear in my question. Simple question really. No matter how "optimized" your site is , paid advertizing with the right company can make a difference if you are on page one or page 50. Just was asking for opinions of best companies for the money.

My business is not a service. I have a wide variety of products and probably could benefit greatly from some paid search engine placement so that for instance my "Manhattan Cake Plate "is listed on page 3 of a search for a Manahattan Cake Plate in stead of page 650 or so.

I'm not a total dummy lol! I do realize there are lots of factors that affect positioning ,but feel it might be beneficial to pay for better positioning than can be obtained by seo alone.

I was not offering my services. I charge a heck of a lot more than you had stated. I was just trying to get an idea of what you were looking for.

If you are looking to actually purchase advertising, not PPC, then I would suggest you look at your product offerings. Find a grouping you like. You mentioned "Manhattan Cake Plate'. If you have a bunch of NYC products, then contact the NYC tourism site and see how much advertising would cost there. This will benefit you in two ways. 1.) You are on a site related to the products. These are people looking at NYC and will be interesting in everything NYC. The site will bring you visitors who are interested. 2.) it will provide you with a quality inbound link to help with SE rankings.

The best form of advertising is a text link. If you can find a place to purchase text links that are related, it will help are great deal.

There is purchasing links in newsletters. This will provide a large number of views and usually a link on the website. Newsletters are usually inexpensive.
