It is very clear to me that some of the best ways to make money online is to sell access to information.

The web is full of people seeking information, so if you can provide unique information you can charge for it.

But, this is the problem, almost all information is freely available.

Recently, I have been receiving mailshots offering such information for sale. I have tried to work out what sort of secret information it is and here are my conclusions:

- horse race tips - fixed races? - I tried the free sample and won some money!
- how to bet on shares whether they go up or down - spread betting - I do this already and it's a v.risky game.
- foreign property investment - just list some former war zones and the bargain properties in need of restoration
- drive visitors to websites - place small ads in newspapers - they call them "silly little ads"
- old mail order reports repackaged for the web

Some people are quoting the gains made by others like they and you can simply duplicate their system in as little as 4 hours per week and make 10x your yearly wage working from home with automated income.

But we can learn from these people, I keep the sales letters since they are very convincing and you can use the format to create your own website sales message. They must work since these guys spend alot of money sending us this junk mail. I spent £50 responding to one letter. I think the information I got was worth it but not right for my personal circumstances.

I think that this way of making money could bring some nice revenue, of course if you could collect good info worth of selling.
BTW when I search how to solve some problem on Linux I always got to some forum where problem is described(only first topic) and if you wish to know the answer you'll have to pay subscription fee, very good way to force someone who really need to solve problem and can't find an answer to pay money for this, although to mee it's too cruel way to make money.
