These graphics were created using various photos (Personal or stock) and various filters from one or several graphic programs. Since I do not know what programs were used to create these images (Or what programs you use), I couldn't give you details on how they were created.

You might want to check out these tutorials for understanding and creating effects in Photoshop:
http://www.handson.nu/ (This tutorial is great for text and shape effects)
http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/design/graphics/ (This is a good overall guide to understanding and creating graphics in Photoshop)

If you are not using Photoshop, tell me what program(s) you are using and I or another forum user may recommend specific tutorials for you.

You can't actually get a free version of Photoshop (Unless you plan on obtaining it illegally). It's not shareware or freeware.

If you're looking for a good freeware graphics program, visit:

If you are looking into free graphic software, I recommend Gimp. It is very similar to PhotoShop and words very well.

I have used so many different ones. However, if you are looking for a free program as powerful and with the functions of Photoshop, then Gimp is your option. It isn't quite as good, but it is as good as you are going to get for free. The big limitation  (at least last time I used gimp) was it does not handle .gif files. You have to use .png instead.

I dont like Paint Shop because it is very limited. I have used Ulead also. It is an inexpensive program like Paint Shop, but has more features. I guess it is just a matter of figuring out what it is you are needing in a program and how much you want to spend on it.

I am starting to find that Fireworks is pretty nice also. I am currently using Firewords and Photoshop for all my graphics work. Yes, I know, these are the two most expensive ones out there, but they are also the best I have used so far.
