In order to understand the full benefits of becoming an active member of this forum, please review the following information on guest and new member restrictions. We wish to prevent these events from happening in the future and make our community a more comfortable place for all of our members.

For guests:

Guests are not allowed to open new topics, polls, or posts attachments.
If you wish to open up new discussions on this forum, we encourage you to register.

For new members:

New members with less than five posts are not allowed to modify additional profile information such as avatars, contact information, biographies, and signatures. However, new members are encouraged to post their own topics or reply to topics initiated by other members. Become active on the forums and 5 posts should be an easy task!

Webmaster Key Forums requires moderators and contributors for the smooth running of the forums. These positions are voluntary positions but confer various benefits to their holders (e.g. title on posts, links from our staff section(for moderators) and Contributors page(for contributors), access to staff board, more control over forums, etc.)

Contributors
We're looking for contributors!
It's a special position given to members who take active part in developing and supporting our community. They don't have control of any specific board like moderators, but have more previledges over usual members, and have possibility to feature info about themselves and their sites on special contributors page which will appear as soon as we have some positions taken Wink , and some other previledges which I prefer to keep in the secret for now Roll Eyes

Contributors should meet one of the following criteria:

1. Have more than 50 posts and be in good standing in the community.
2. Regullary contribute to our forums by creating threads(not just pointless ones but those which would be interesting to people and become more or less popular topic for discussion), or writing articles or give helpful replies to the questions posted by other members.

There is no need to submit nomination for this position, we'll will pick most active members who offer their time and knowledge to help other people.
Just small note: please if you wish to get Contributor position, please not use tricks to get higher posting count by posting things which doesn't bring anything helpful to subject, no offence but this will not work(we'll pick only folks who really wish to be helpful and not just looking to get an advertisment from us.
And remeber that even if you reach 50 postscount but most of your threads are requests for help, then keep on posting and try your best to help others (if you have no specific knowledge maybe Site Reviews Board could be a good choice for you).

Moderators
This procedure sets out how moderators are appointed and the criteria

Moderators are assigned to a particular forum and help by contributing to that forum, eliminating spam and generating a fair atmosphere for all.

Moderators should meet following criteria:

1. Become a Key Keeper Wink (don't ask me how, just be around and you'll probably find out this yourself one day).
2. Have more than 50 posts and be in good standing in the community
3. Show a knowledge of the subject of the board you wish to moderate.
4. Time and will to periodically check your boards in order to see if everything run smoothly there.

Anyone may nominate someone for the position of moderator, including the nominee themselves. Nominations may be made by submitting member's nick to me or Rachel. Following submission the procedure is as follows:

1. The submission would be discussed by staff in the Staff Lounge. This process can take several days and is selection by lack of objection (i.e. if moderator has concerns about the submission)

2. Assuming that one is passed the nominee is contacted to see if they are interested.

3. If so, the nominee is assigned moderation rights, given access to the Staff Lounge, etc.

Expiry
For Moderators:
For reasons of tidyness, security and to prevent confusion - accounts of Moderators who have not posted within 2 months, without notification of reason, are considered expired in terms of their moderation rights and must redo the nomination process to regain their position.

For Contributors:
Accounts of Contributors who have not posted within 4 months, without notification of reason, are considered expired, they would loose status of contributor and would disappear from Contributor's page. To regain their position they shouldn't submit nomination as in the case with moderators. It's enough to appear on our boards and continue to take active part in our forums life once again! We're are always glad to see returning members  Wink

So if you're interested start to help other people on our boards by providing them with the answers they are looking for Wink
