I have been compiling a list of search engine submission pages: http://templatetool.co.uk/tools/url-submit-pages.html

Is there any other list on the web?

What suprised me in making this list is how there is so few easy to submit to search engines.

Many have 6-8 week submission criteria which is rubbish and they want you to pay for express inclusion.

I still regard Google as the only one worth bothering with. For directories I think DMOZ should be next. All the others, I don't know? Can anyone comment?

Yup, JoeAnt is worth paying for so that your site is listed in it's directory.
It's much better than waiting over six months to be included in Dmoz.

if you're interested in aroun 50 visitors per month(of course if you choose good category) you may be interested in Galaxy.com listing it will cost 10 bucks only.
Also there are some sites about directories worth submitting to, which I've mentioned in updated Advice on Manual Search Engine Submission
http://www.directory-pages.com/ - here is the guide on submission
check these resources just in case as well as first one seems to have more engines to submit to than link you've showed us and second contain directories compilation only:

I think there is a need for a list of worthwhile search engines/directories to submit to ranked in terms of cheapness and effectiveness. This list would be particularly usefull where you somehow have failed to get traffic maybe by being in fierce competition from rivals. Any traffic is better than nothing for a new site.

agree, and actually I've mention all worthwhile SE and most of directories in the post I've referred to. I've add only those sites which provide at least 10 or so people per month to at least one site to which logs I have access. Others were omitted until I spot any changes.

No problem to post my link but check out Phoenix's recommendations too.

Today I read some great stuff about search engines including interviews of top SE staff, but I will post on a more relevant board. Of relevance to this thread are that some top search engines are none I had heard about before: Virgillio Ricerca (Italy) and T-Online Suche (Germany). These capture around 7% of searches. So it may pay to translate some of your web pages to target these engines.

But Sarah999, your site is just a kind of top site and if look to statistic page it doesn't seems like a high amount traffic one, so personally I would suggest to avoid it. not sure but I guess most of top sites should become a history
