Hey!hope Everyone made it throught he winter Wink I am feeeling a little lost again! Something I feel on a regular occassional basis. I suddenly decided to open a chat forum, actually thinking what a cheap way to advertize my website.$9.99 for the domain register and that's it. I self host my own website without too much trouble. Actually it's going smooth. So I registerd a name now not sure what to do...this reminds me of my first post in this forum lol! And now I am wondering can I even run 2 seperate sites on the same server, same machine???I thought I could???Anyone got help??? Huh
Update~I still have another day or so before my dns thingy is populated so I don't know if I've done everything right yet...How I THINK I solved the 2 website issue is In the main server root that contains my main website I added a new folder called root2 and put the new forum in there so the path looks like ...\root\root2\forum... Anyone think this is going to or not going to work?? Cool

I've hosted 3 sites on the same account, it could be done if you have subdomains, and if you have addon domains you can use different domains for them as well, although I'm not sure how exactly it's done.
Also I guess that if you host site yourself it's done in different manner than with usual hosting company... maybe someone else would be more helpful

Thnaks Denis. I am wondering if it is going to work . the way I have it set up , because when I go into my main website, the address bar says simply my ipaddress/index. html. The ip would be the same for the second account and except it is in root2 it is also named index.html. I am sure it is different if you are not hosting your own accounts. For one thing, you don't have to figure out how to solve any problems all by your self lol! I'll do some more reading on it today and hopefully find out how to deal with it. I don't think it is going to be too hard, but just need to find out how to file the different accounts.  Smiley
