I'm using Adobe Photoshop.
And for the other question, I've heard some good things about GIMP, but I've never tried it.

A graphics program I like alot is Image Styler.  Adobe has discontinued it for some reason, and not sure why because it is easy to use and has some real cool effects.  Other than that, ya pretty much have to have photoshop.  One freeware program, I would not be without is Match Head. It has a very good screenshot feature, that will give the numeric value for any color on the screen.

Yes they do…..
I use Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, Flash and Paint plus several others for icons and such. You really have to use them in order to keep up with them.

Islanding, by the looks of your banner you also dabble in visual basic as well. This is kinda off topic, however, If this is so... do you know of any good places to learn off the net for free?

Matt, are you asking Islanding or other all members? If this second I usually make all banners 88*31 too in Photoshop(if static) or Image Ready(if animated), usually I just compose using this software, previously previously made in 3D Max or LW.

HI,
I use Photoshop or Fireworks for static Buttons or Fireworks or Flash 5 for animated. You can use Swish also Click here for trail Swish is an Flash enabled WYSIWYG graphic editor.

I hope this has helped..............
