about how many keywords should be in each page? the limit?

would something like "web site design" count as 3 keywords?

depends on what you are refferring to.

If you mean meta keywords, my own rule of thumb is 5. and yes "web site design" is 3 words.

There is no actual limit, however, having a hundred keywords is kind of silly. you can only go by whats on that page, not what the whole site is about.

I kind of chuckle to myself when I see sites that have everyword under the sun on every page, this can actually hurt you more then help, by increasing file size.

I always prefer two to three key phrases per page, as it is tough to optimize for more than three key phrases per page. Also SEO writing is a bit tricky, u should place your sales pitch near the targetting word. Lets say someone is searching for Promo Pens , if you put your impressive sales punch line just in front of the first occurence of "Promo Pens", it will gives you better results. I wish i could explain all.

Yeah i agree with you "Promopens"... two to three key phrases per page will be good & also easier to optimize.
