Find the zipped file on your computer and right click on it.
Look down the list and find "open with".
Click on "choose program".
Find the program you want to use to unzip things with and before clicking OK put a tick in the "always use the selected program to open this kind of file".

 Grin
Hope that helps.

The file doesn't have (OPEN WITH) any more, it only
has open. when you try to open it it still has the
bogas program icon in the middle of it, which is a stock
trading program that I clicked by mistake. I only had
the (OPEN WITH ) option, the first time I tried to open it!
Why this stock trading program was on the list to begin with is beyond me, but it is the same for all unzip files
(choose the program you wish to open this file with )but
don't choose the wrong one ,or your stuck with it forever!

Can't you download the demo of winzip or winrar and that should turn all the files to either winzip or winrar files. then use what i've said above ?
You can uninstall winzip or winrar later.

If you don't want this program, uninstall it. (Access the control panel and then click "Add or Remove Programs...")

yup WinRAR seems to provide smallest archives most of cases(I've did some tests in the past), I believe that RAR's main competitor is WinACE but I'm not remeber if it provide archive rescue option.

I hate WinACE- For the record. I didn't like the way it worked or felt... I have tried out many different programs, and WinRAR is by far the best compression utility I have ever used (IMHO).

By the way John Davis, glad you got everything working.

Glad it all worked out OK.
I use WinRAR myself and think it's a very good program.
