hi folks, just decide to post info which I've find out in last few days who knows maybe it would be useful for you.
First resource which was probably most helpful is http://www.imaging-resource.com/ it's provide sample photos in same conditions for various types of cameras, it also contain review of editor and users for each featured camera, and after all help to pick lowest available price.
This one was also helpful http://www.dpreview.com/gallery/ I've review sample pictures on it. But it also possess review section, forums and such.
Third one is http://www.epinions.com/Digital_Cameras it's actually was first site which I discover, it's useful if you wish to get specification of some camera fast and you can read opinions of users for particular product(not only digital cameras).
This site http://www.pbase.com/ was found by me after I order my Nikon CoolPix 3100, I find it because was interested in night scene sample photos done by this model, there is a lot of low quality photos but amongst them you can find some really nice examples.
Hope this would be helpful in some way since I have troubles first in finding sample photos for camera.
BTW anyone use digital camera here?

A neighbor of mine has a dandy of a digital camera and I'm itching to get one myself.   His takes amazing pictures - he's got some that he blew up and framed and you'd swear they were professional, but he says you have to use a really good one to achieve that effect.  I have some of my great-niece that was taken on a digital camera at only 72 dpi and they stink.  I showed these to him and he said you should never use under 200 dpi for pictures -

And that's all I know - so far anyway!  Embarrassed

do you know brand and model of his camera? as for Nikon CoolPix 3100(that's one I've choose and it's not really professional cam) it could produce some really nice pictures you can check it yourself e.g. here http://www.dpreview.com/gallery/nikoncp3100_samples/ I've choose it mostly because of size... but if you looking for more features and more manual control I would advice Canon PowerShot A70, but unfortunately you would get camera bigger in size which is critical for me since I wish camera to be always with me.

and I'm choosing my camera once again Wink that's because shop where I order camera after one week reported that they don't have it in stocks(it's status when I order it said that it's in stocks so next time I buy something I'll better call them first and check if they really have it).
So since I've get my money back after order cancellation(they didn't know when they got it) I've decide to cut costs and look for cheaper alternative, now I'm choosing between Minolta Dimage X20 and Nikon 2100. And again I've found some nice sites with reviews and sample photos which could help to other who considering to buy digicamera:

Yea, I have a digital and would recommend one to everyone. Mine is a real cheap thing and of course very easy to use Smiley  Two friends have Nikon's and they are brilliant but they did cost a lot more money than mine.  Mine is a Kodak, and if you want an easy camera to use and not spend much money, I would highly recommend it.  I have had it for 2 years now and of course would like something much more professional, but for children or an odlie like myself it's a good one to start with.

Of course, the model is DX 3500 and has been superceded a few times, by now, I would think.

Try this to see a few of my photo's, just to give you an idea. http://chloesphotos.fotopic.net/show_collection.php?id=57571 .  Hope that works if not tell me what to do or how to send them.  I have a web page but don't have much space for photo's so I have a gallery with fotopic.

Edit reason: just correct a link to make it clickable.

No, phoenix, I don't but will try to find out.  I know he said it costed him $650 dollars - ouch.

I'm with chloe  - will go for a scaled down model to start with because I know zilch, but they sure sound like fun and someday I'd sure like to get a good one.  Thanks for those links- been sort of keeping my eyes and ears open on these 'cos the "itch" for one is getting pretty bad! Cheesy

Scratch it Jen and go and buy one, it will give you hours of fun and pleasure.  And once you have your digital photo's on the computer there are some brilliant little programmes out there, which give more hours of pleasure.

Jenni, Chloe is right, camera is really absorbing thing, I never enjoy analog photo(probably because photo developing was too tricky and costly for me) but once I've got digital camera it's change everything, I've already waiting for my Minolta Dimage X20 which could arrive really soon, it's really compact so I should be able to carry it always with me and will not loose good picture if spot one.
Chloe, you have awesome camera, when I've select between cameras I've take Kodak in consideration as well but later I've decide that size is critical to me.
BTW I've check your pictures and they look really nice. By the way what about "Buy Prints" feature are you printing those pcitures on photopaper and later sell them? if so may I ask you if it's really work?

Hi SensoVision,
The Kodak camera is rather cumbersome to carry around but good for me as I would lose it if it was smaller.  I even have an old fashioned mobile, which is large but don't think I would lose that either:)  As you get older you have to think of these things Cool

Haven't thought of buying any of the prints and I am sure no one would want to buy them either.  Any that I really like or I have taken for a reason, I print off myself and frame them.

many people say this to me Smiley they believe that if camera or mobile is too small it would be lost more easily... Tongue hopefully they are wrong Roll Eyes

as for very old mobiles I think it's not so good idea to have one since those really old models have high SAR level, and some tests seems to proove it's connection with cancer. I also have pretty big mobile it's Nokie 6310 but it's level is just ok according to SAR lists.

10 out of 10 and a big 'E' for effort
