hi Omega and welcome to our community! here is some sites which could be helpful in picking righ hex code for the color you need:
http://www.htmlgoodies.com/colors.html
http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/reference/color_codes/
http://www.december.com/html/spec/color.html

I've found all these sites using ATW here is the query I've used: http://www.alltheweb.com/search?avkw=fogg&cat=web&cs=utf-8&q=color+hex+codes&_sb_lang=pref

hope it would be helpful, if you need more help just let us know.

Welcome Omega
I absolutely know that you have found the right forum!

With respect to the color chart question...  there is another one here:  Wink
Color Chart

Or a color picker on this page:
Color Picker
To find this one you have to click in the blue box where it says Color Picker.  These are both javascripting and can be aquired free, for your own page.

maybe you're not as crazy as I am, but now that you have color charts, getting just the perfect color is the next battle! Cheesy

And welcome, by the way! This is a great place to be!

Hello Omega, welcome aboard.

Also if you go to:
www.lynda.com/hexh.html
then click on to "non dithering" etc....when you get to the google results....you should have a beautiful page of colours and their hex numbers to choose from Grin

Hello Omega, hope you didn't mind the "double" welcome from me Wink
Want to fine tune previous advice I gave so that when you go to:

http://www.lynda.com/hexh.html

you dont have to worry about looking for the "non ditherhing"  just print out if you have a colour printer, or keep in favourites /bookmark Wink Grin
