That's just horrible - how can they get away with that???

Did you at least get traffic from being listed with them? Or did you wind up giving them all the traffic?

this week i received a letter, read it on updatedsucks.com

a formal reply will be posted, here's a short piece

The first e-mail we received was a reaction on a site review we made on Alexa.com mentioning that we haven’t been paid and they don’t answer e-mail or telephone. If you look at the other reviews you will notice that they more often simply do not respond. After this first e-mail was received, there was some discussion about quality of traffic, we quote some lines from e-mails received from updated.com, which prove there was nothing wrong with the traffic sent, and that it was accepted by Updated.com.

Sept 5th Message: we will review in detail your traffic (original e-mail enclosed)
Reviewing the traffic would mean looking at what advertiser links is clicked and what keywords are used so any wrongful clicks would have been found at this point and we would be notified to change this. But on the contrary Sept 9th we received next “Good News” message.

Sept 9th Subject: Good News  message: Your account has been reactivated and your payments will be sent! We reviewed your account and its fine although the reason your account was on hold was because we detected clicks from the same IP network and that’s not allowed as you know        It Shows that the August check was indeed mailed (original e-mail enclosed)
At this point the account was enabled again, and everything was OK, no word about using wrong keywords not delivering traffic to advertisers or anything else we are now accused of

Sept 26th Message: Our Technical team requested you add one of our new banners on your site so signup again (original e-mail included)
This is what we did, we signed up for a new account, probably loosing our referral data, but this aside

Sept 29th  Message: Also let me note that  august checks are delayed (original e-mail enclosed)
In Sept 9th E-mail August checks are already sent!

Sept 30th Message Clipart was not an approved keyword (original e-mail and screenshot that the keyword was accepted enclosed)
On the page where you have the keywords listed, behind the word “clipart” is the word “Approved” Our native language isn’t English, but we think this is quite clear

Thank you!

Maria,

Since I never got paid, I searched the internet trying to find out more information and found out many sites saying that updated is a scam.  I would love to believe these versions are false but then why you never reply to my emails?

 Undecided

Watch out people!  Updated don't pay out.  It's a scam, if in doubt google them and see what you find.  They owe me big and won't even respond to emails.  It's a complete scam.   Angry

Same here, I have been repeatedly trying since last December to get a reply, they are scammers through and through.
Occasionaly, they seem to pay some lip service to people but thats it.

STEER CLEAR !

Dear Webmasters,

If you have an account with Updated! and have questions related to your account please feel free to email me at maria @ updated.com

Klaas happened to be one of our affiliates that decided to create his own banners and links and add them on his website and did not to add the ones provided and approved by Updated! He basically did not follow our terms and added his own banners and links. We did intended to pay him and offered him a chance to comply but he did not comply and instead was cursing out the person he was speaking to and had used violent words and threats.

Have a nice day!

Maria, you owe me $769.86. I have emailed your company for over 2 years now, with no response to any query. I'll enjoy meeting you in court with my fellow webmasters.

Also, enjoy your audit:

Dear askmadame

I ordered a service from you and sent you soo many emails and got no reply from you. I should be expecting your letter soon, as they say it takes two weeks for it to arrive. i would appreciate a reply from you though. I would like to feel that i am actually communicating with a person and not a computer. I chose your site because of your high rating and great comments.

If you see this please contact me, i tried sending you an email today through keen but it asks for my credit card details.....

Have a nice day
