I need the attention of all WK regulars on this one. I would like to know:

-Did you like the dark version, and do you prefer dark themes over light themes?

-Would you prefer we work with a light theme (Using the graphics Denis uploaded today, or have a revote)

-Use both themes and let users alternate between which theme they would like to use?

It's not going to hurt my feelings if you don't like the dark feel. I just want to make sure everyone is pleased with it before I make this design again.

Please be honest, and thanks to everyone for their opinions.

Hi Articutis,
I was getting used to the dark theme! Smiley It was growing on me! The dark theme made it stand out from "Just another forum".
In saying that however, a lighter theme makes the place more friendly IMO.
I guess we wait till we hear from the others but I tend to like lighter sites more so than darker themes.
Dont think I didnt like you dark theme, you are a talented designer, thats for sure! Your work is noticed and appreciated Smiley And remember, ya cant please all the people all the time!! Smiley  Wink

Hello Rachel, Grin
I like the dark theme.....although <b>for me </b>it is easier, reading with the light theme, becasue sometimes when I would click on a topic, with the dark theme, the name of it would disappear.....otherwise, what a wonderful job, Grin I prefer white text on dark background, but I like this now, that I'm typing on, the bottom line is: what-ever-it takes for general easiest reading for "oldies" like me who need text to be clear Tongue
Keep up the good work Rachel Grin Wink

actually we can do this by creating two or more themes so members can select from them Wink
I've also advice with Dev. Team leader and he said than many more changes to come since it's Charter Member beta and it's not posses all feautes which include final release(actually it posses many features which are not visible... e.g. we have here Who's Online feature which just don't implemented in this template).

New logo looks nice, but I don't see why you have to change from the previous one (dark color).  The previous one was a significant improvement from the one before.

Well, I just wanted to make sure everyone liked the dark design, because it would require me redoing the script again... And there would be no point in doing it again if no one liked the dark theme.

But since this has been a bit unconclusive, I think I'm going to work with Denis on creating two themes (Dark and Light.. haha).

Oh ! know... constantly eating my words... I know what you're thinking...

I think we should consider allowing anyone that knows how to edit scripts to submit their own themes (Like those who previously entered the contest). Anyone interested in adding their own WK theme?

Until then, I'm going to use my two themes (I'm going to finish this one, and then I'm going to rework the one that actually won the contest), and then we can work from there.

I like the light theme better, but i've just noticed that when i reply i don't get all the options i used to get.
I now have to do the coding for bold myself.
WHY ?

This one is the best yet. I love the header and homepage, search & help buttons. You've got a point about the forum visited buttons tho. They need to be darker and lighter.

Thanks, glad you like. This probably wasn't as difficult as the first one, with the exception that I felt like I was learning a new coding language (Yes, I know it's the same code but it was really quite different from YABBSE, surprisingly).

Is it just me or does this load much faster? So far I'm pretty pleased with SMF.

While I'm at it, is there anything else anyone needs done? Any suggestions? All the little personal icons should be changed by tomorrow (I'm too tired to finish tonight), and the same goes for the mod icons (Which most people don't see.)
