Well, just heard on the car radio, while driving, something I thought maybe handy Cool  If you go to your 'computer' click on 'search' then 'files', enter filename 'msblast.com' to see if you have the latest worm on your pc.  if you do, (which I didn't) Wink then go to www.stopsign.com  There was an Aussie sight, but I lost that one on a local server crash! Tongue So try this one and maybe someone out there has more suggestions......Thanks Wink

Suzie, I'm not sure but if you heard this via radio it could be some advertisement trick... Undecided because http://www.stopsign.com/ is simple page which use some PPC to get paid each time someone click on any link there...

Of course Sue Wink

It's too easy for the internet places to lure people into traps, it's happened to me as well... We just have to be careful, and forgiven or forgiving when it happens.

Besides, nothing bad came out of it. We'll just add stopsign.com to our bad website's list! Evil

Thankyou for your understanding Cheesy
I would not do anything to bring rotten sites to these pages,or to  the other site where I am mod, http://www.bwdesign.ca/ wittingly or otherwise......
Also I must check for patches somewhere becasue the virus is rife in Aus...and even though I'm on home pc, a worm can wriggle  anywhere;D

Here we go, something positive and definite about it all Wink

Microsoft Stopped Attack by 'Worm' on Its Web Site
By REUTERS

Microsoft said it had thwarted an attack late Saturday on its Web site by a malicious software program that has infected hundreds of thousands of Windows computers.
The viruslike program, or "worm," variously called W32.Blaster, MSBlast and W32/Lovsan, caused the most recent Windows operating systems — XP, 2000, NT 4.0 and Server 2003 — to malfunction, and instructed the infected computers to attack a Microsoft Web site.

A Microsoft spokesman said that the company's site had no problems as a result of the worm, which has infected some 386,000 computers, according to an estimate from the Symantec Corporation.
On Friday, Microsoft said it had protected its network by eliminating the Web page with the address used by the Blaster worm.
Security experts say that although the attack on Microsoft failed, the worm will continue to spread until vulnerable computers use a software patch from Microsoft. In addition, there are two new versions of the rogue program circulating, including one that provides an attacker remote access to the computer.
The software patch can be downloaded at www.microsoft.com.

Sue, I've moved it since it's not really news but rather some trick used for advertisment, so there is no reason to keep this thread in news board. So I've moved it to general PC talk board where it would suit better IMHO.
