Any vegetarians on these forums ?

I'm only asking this because i've just watched the new premiership football advert on TV and it's the funniest thing i've seen in ages.
It's got a baby cow asking it's mother "what happens when we die". The mother cow says they chop your legs off. They take your tongue out. They chop you up and eat you. The baby cow says "what do they do with my nuts" and then it shows you this big fat football fan eating a hamburger and it says "get ready for the new football season".

Anyway, do you know why people like eating pies and sausage rolls. It's because you can't tell where the meat has come from.
It's like kentucky fried chicken. They have a picture of a man on the box because if they put a picture of a chicken having it's legs cut off, on the box. Nobody would want to eat them.

ugh, i'll keep my opinion of vegitarians to myself.

as far as the rest of your statment, concerning the KFC thing, it's a magical little marketing technique called branding. i realize i am probably a little more market minded than some people here, but trust me it works. they could have easily put a picture of a chicken as their logo, but that wouldn't be original. and they would not put a picture of a dead chicken because that would be completly stupid, and sounds like an argument some whiney liberal would come up with about why we should help preserve the nations chicken population so one day we have an over population and that we can not do anything about.

anyway, thats my daily rant. if you wish to know my view on vegitarians i'll give it upon request. but it is an issue i feel strongly toward, and if you know me you know that might entail a huge page worth of comments on it.

I am a meat-eater. It's believe it's part of our nature- we are at the top of the food chain. Just like with owls, large felines, wolves, sharks, or anything else, we eat the inferior creatures in order to mantain a healthy diet.

It's seems that in most cases the only ones refraining from meat are doing it for moralistic purposes, opposed to other creatures that refrain from eating meat because it's not part of their diet.

If it's wrong for us to eat meat then other creatures would not eat meat either. I'm only opposed to eating meat if the creature being eaten was not breed to be eaten. For instance, I would never eat a kangaroo or even an alligator.. Unless it was a life and death situation.

I don't want to upset you, but since you asked I might as well be honest. If my post offends you I'll remove it. Lips Sealed

that's interesting subject, I've actually was usual meat-eater previously but later when start to learn Kung-Fu my master said to keep a diet and exlude all meat from my menu... and I've done this those times...(it's not recommended to eat meat because it's hard for our organism to process it) I still eay meat from time to time but when I go to vessel and spend about 5 months there I have a possiblity to choose what I eat myself and I exclude meat completely, and you know what I feel just great, I think my master were right I wasn't tired when other folks was and they wonder why... and I strongly believe that meat has something to this.
Currently I try to avoid meat as much as possible and eat it like a delicatessen, only from time to time.

I've got nothing against vegetarians or meat eaters. I just thought it might make a good topic.

BTW phoenix, i always thought it would be opposite to what you've just said. I thought not eating meat would make you tired. Hmmm...

I eat heaps of fruit in the mornings (which generally gives me lots of energy) and about 4 in the afternoon I'm looking for a 'dinner' which always has to have heaps fresh vegetables with it in winter and mega salad with it in summer months....Then usually I've got heaps of decaf coffee by the pc as well Roll Eyes
That way I usually have much energy, unless I become aneamic or something becasue I don't eat enough spinach or liver UGH UGH UGH(having pernicous aneamia spasmodically) Sad  Then I have to have 'cytamen' injections to get me up and running Roll Eyes  However I normally enjoy good health and used to occasionally eat meat pies and sausage rolls, but since I discovered they're basically 'hoofs and ears' I declined Shocked  Si I'm not a vegetarian but I don't mind who is. I think "live and let live"
and "don't worry - be happy" Wink Cheesy Grin

Personally, I think if you're going to go as far as to say it's wrong to eat cows, it might as well be wrong to eat chickens and fish as well.

I agree more with vegans than vegetarians. If I decided I was going to refrain from meat, I would definetly become a vegan over a vegetarian. It seems more consistent to me.

Most vegetarians eat chicken, fish, eggs, cheese, milk, and so on. Basically they don't eat red meat, but they still eat birds and fish.

Vegans on the other hand, don't eat chicken, fish, eggs, cheese, milk, etc. They don't eat anything that is meat or comes from meat creatures.

This is a very narrow summary of the vegans and vegetarians, I apologize if I left something out...
